Whats New!!

Hello Buckaroos and Buckeretts!

I hope you are having a great riding season this year. I know a lot of us are riding more to save money at the gas pumps, but the side effect is we are riding more, so there is silver lining to every dark cloud.

There's one thing I would like to add to that. We have to take control of our country. We cannot trust the congress or next president to do it for us. They have failed us miserably and its time for us to be outraged.

I have, and will continue to call and email my state and federal representative's to demand they do something about getting our country back on track, instead of setting on their hands and doing NOTHING! We can do it, lets pull together. I know we can change this and get on with our partying a riding. I say we kick them all out and start over. Nuff said on this

I am happy to report that Iron City Blues is kicking major butt!! Check us out in the new issue of Vintage Guitar magazine, the one with Steve Lukather on the cover. Its too COOL!!

I have a new web site for all you musicians.Check out my custom T and S style builds. I will also be offering all the new cool stuff that I find, and I guarantee it will be Big Mike approved!! Check out www.bigmikesmightyfineguitars.com

Ya'll have a great time this summer and I will see you on the road. Keep the rubber side down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May 2, 2008

Hey ya'll ! Well warm weather is here and its time to ride!!! I don't know about you but with gas prices at an all time high and not coming down anytime soon, Im gonna be riding a lot more than I already do. Just a few reminders to watch out for your brothers and sisters on the road. If someone is broke down on the side, stop and give em a hand. Its the "Old School" thing to do. You also might make a new riding buddy.

Iron City Blues will be in Thunder Press southeastern in May so cruise by your local Harley store and pick one up. While your there, tell em Big Mike Griffin sent ya and lets see if we can play a gig in your area this summer or fall!!

One final thing, I will not be performing at the Hot August blues festival in Hardin KY this year.
After 18 years of being involved with it, the Kenlake State park management handed over the reins to a outside source and we couldn't get together on terms. I will be playing in the area this summer so check back with us often.

Remember to Love one another and KEEP THE RUBBER SIDE DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

September 1, 2005

I regret to inform all of you that read this that I will not be at the Full Moon Saloon this Biketoberfest. This is not my decision or choice, as it would have been my 12th year at this venue, but I guess things eventually change, and the management wanted to try something new. So I will not be at Biketoberfest unless I find a new venue.

If any of you reading this know of a place that likes to rock and loves the blues, e-mail me at BMGBluz@aol.com or call me at (615) 202-6863. I will miss all of you that come every year to see me, but watch the schedule and as soon as I know when I'll be in the area, I will post it.

Here's to a great riding season, remember to love and watch out for one another, and Keep the Rubber Side Down!!
P.S. Here's to all our brothers in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Our prayers are with you.

July 13, 2005

Well, I don't usually use this space to bitch, but this month I do want to say a little something that's been sticking in my craw. On a recent motorcycle trip, I not only had to pay more money for gas ( I never thought I could put $14 dollars worth of gas in a bike) but it seemed everyone was going at least 85 and driving like fuckin maniacs. Endangering not only my life but everyone on the road. A lot of the trucks and SUV's had the bar and shield on the back windows. So either they are wannabe's (probably) or Harley folks that just don't give a fuck how much gas costs. Anyway my point is this, if we'd cut back on consumption of this overpriced fuel, maybe the price would at the very least come down to a reasonable level.
I'm riding my bike more and driving my truck less. That's what its all about anyway, right?
Please watch out for each other and SLOW THE FUCK DOWN!! The life you save might be your own. See you on that long lonesome hiway.

April 22, 2005

Hey Ya'll! Looking forward to a terrific riding season, I think it's gonna be a AWESOME year.
I don't know about you,but with gas prices hitting $2.15 a gallon in the Nashville area, Im riding my bike instead of feeding my trucks with fossil fuel. Speaking of that, we need to write our representatives and complain about getting fucked at the pump. Especially when you and I know its total bullshit. Ever wonder why gas is higher around the holidays and in the summer? Im sick of getting screwed at every turn, and I think we need to tell somebody about it! We can do it if we pull together and ride our bikes two or three days a week instead of jumping into the 4X4 to go across the street to the McDonalds. That's my two cents... I'll see you on the road!

BIG MIKE

January 27, 2005

I don't know about you, but I'm ready for the cold weather to stop and the ridin season to kick in. Man I want to get on the scoot and take off for a couple of days without freezing my cajones off.

We are gearing up for a terrific 2005. We've had some changes around here that I want tell you about. First off, Ger Hoffman (Chili Sauce) is back in the bass seat, or hot seat if you know what I mean. Welcome back Ger, its good to have you back in the truck! I also want to welcome Adam Conde and Formax Entertainment to our family. Adam will be taking over promotions and marketing for Chrome Link Records. Adam is a terrific guy and a good friend. Welcome aboard Adam!!!

I want to see everyone at the FULL MOON SALOON in Daytona this year. Show times will be posted at the venue, but its every night around 10:30 pm. See Ya'll there!

Remember, support out troops and keep them in your prayers. They are sacrificing so we can have our freedom. Don't ever take that for granted. Keep the rubber side Down!!!

December 16, 2004

Merry Christmas everyone!
Hope 2004 was as good to you as it was to me and looking to a GREAT 2005!!
I know for most of us this is down time for our riding, but its usually a great time for partying and hearing great music. Hope to see you all at one of our shows this winter. We'll be looking for you for sure.

Speaking of great shows, we want to invite everyone to ARLO's in Chatsworth, GA. for our annual NEW YEARS PARTY!! Should be a great way to bring in 2005.

Please say a prayer for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are giving up their holidays so we have the freedom to celebrate with our families. Thanks a million for a great 2004! Looking forward to rockin next year and ridin a few miles with you.

Merry Christmas!!!!!
Big Mike

October 14, 2004

Hey Ya'll, Hope all is well and everyone is gettin in ride in this beautiful weather we are having! Remember, ridin em is what its all about, not making your motor a trailer queen!

Keep checking this site for out new T-shirts and Big Mike clothing, its in the works and we should have a great new line of stuff just in time for your Christmas orders!

Also, please remember to vote in the presidential election, its not only your right, but your duty to vote and keep our president in office. Believe me, the democrats and John Kerry don't like our lifestyle or our bikes, so lets keep big government out of our lives as much as possible so we don't wake up riding 250cc greenpeace scooters. Let do our part and really Rock the vote!!!!!

Remember to pray for our troops and their families, and take care of your brothers and sisters on the road. If we don't do it, no one will!! SEE YOU IN DAYTONA!!!!!!!!

July 2, 2004

Hope all of you are having a terrific riding season! I know everyone has been riding their scooters to our shows, so it must be good!!

I’d like to thank Randy Briggs and his crew for riding 650 miles to our show at Big D's saloon in Akron from Sikeston Mo. to honor their downed brother Big D. You guys are the best! Ride in Peace "D".

Please ride your motors at least twice a week to save gas and try to tell OPEC we don’t have to take it. I’m sick of getting ripped off by these assholes and by our own domestic oil companies. I think I might even buy a Vespa! (kidding)

Please ride safe and watch out for each other during this busy season, you are your brothers’ keeper especially if someone your riding with is too fucked up to ride. I don’t want to lose any of you to a missed curve or a head on with a cage. Take care of each other and remember……… KEEP THE RUBBER SIDE DOWN!!!!!!!!!!

Big Mike

May 10, 2004

Hey Ya'll, hope all is well wherever your at and the scooter is ready to hit the road this summer. Speaking of hitting the road, I would like to see everyone ride their motorcycles to work at least three times a week to send a message to the oil companies that we don't have to take it!! I'm sick and tired of being screwed at the pump every time the oil cartel feels that a holiday or summer travel time is a perfect opportunity to get into my wallet. I'm gonna ride my Ol' Shovel as much as I can this summer to get into their pocketbooks a little. I know I cant hurt 'em very much myself, but if we ALL pull together and ride our motorcycles and leave the cages in the driveway, maybe we can make a small dent in their coffers. I'm gonna get off my soapbox now, and say I hope to see you on the road this summer at one of our events or club shows. Please check our schedule for an upcoming show near you!
